About The Association
Following an abortive attempt to form a County Class Association in 2013, a number of former crew members got together at
a reunion held in April 2015 to further discuss the idea. The proposal was unanimously agreed and a Steering Committee was
formed to carry the idea forward.
Following many E-mails, private messages and Skype conference calls, the “County Class Destroyers Association” came into
being on 1st August 2015 headed by a Steering Committee, which consisted of the following members:
Danny Shea: Chair / Facebook Admin
Martin Slater: Secretary / Webmaster / e-Magazine Editor
Paula Moon: Membership Secretary
Graham Linton: Deputy Membership Secretary
Tony Latter: Treasurer
David Simnett: Recruitment
Others who helped set up the Association and are worthy of mention are:
Anthony Davies
Vic Hocking
Roy Mitchell
David Simnett
Tony 'Mr. Reunion' Smith
Tod 'Scouse' Torrens
Jim Worlding
and we would like to thank them for their invaluable input during the set-up period.
